Recognize a win for people and wildlife in B.C.

Celebrate B.C. caribou recovery action

Celebrate the one-year anniversary of protections for British Columbia’s mountain caribou! It's time to recognize this is a real win for people and wildlife.

In February 2020, Saulteau and West Moberly First Nations signed a partnership agreement with B.C. and Canada to protect and recover caribou in the Peace region. This is an example of Indigenous-led conservation as reconciliation in action.

While this historic partnership agreement between Treaty 8 First Nations, B.C. and Canada helps recover caribou numbers in the northeast part of the province, there is more to be done. For example, caribou in the Upper Columbia are facing local extinction.

Speak up for caribou, forests, communities and Indigenous reconciliation today. Remind B.C. and Canada you support caribou habitat protection and recovery efforts.Tell government you care about caribou, that Indigenous-led conservation is the way forward, and that there needs to be more action like this for caribou elsewhere.

Personalize the letter below and send it today!

Dear Premier Horgan, Minister Wilkinson, Minister Conroy, Minister Cullen, Minister Rankin, and Minister Heyman.

Thank you again for your leadership.
