Public transit is one of the best ways to get around and get to know your community. By taking public transit, you’re not only saving money on gas, but also doing your part to reduce CO2 emissions and save our environment.

You don’t need to take transit all the time to make a difference

It can be a challenge to make transit your primary source of transportation, but even occasional use can make a difference to your pocketbook and our planet. Transit is a great option for regular or occasional trips to common destinations, and when you need to leave the car at home.

Get route information in two easy steps!

Step 1: find your system

To find the transit system where you live, and to plan your ride, visit the BC Transit page. https://www.bctransit.com/choose-transit-system You can type in your community or choose from the drop-down menu.

Step 2: plan your trip

BC Transit has plenty of route options for your service area, and to make things simple they provide a route planning function. Once you have entered the site for your community, the trip planning function will come up and you can just enter your information to see the optimal route.

Find Routes, Schedules and Maps

Once you have selected your community, check out the menu options at the top of the screen. One important topic covered is schedules and maps, which gives you access to all the routes and times for your transit system.

Bring your bike

Public transit is increasingly bicycle-friendly. Visit the BC Transit page https://www.bctransit.com/victoria for your transit system to learn about using your bike with public transit.

Teach your kids about transit

Public transit is safe for kids and adults alike. Visit BC Transit’s Kids Ride the Bus https://kidsridethebus.com page for more information about teaching your kids about using public transportation.
