For decades the world’s top scientists have said that climate change will make storms like Helene stronger, more deadly, and longer lasting. We are now watching the climate crisis wash entire communities away. The media must be honest with the American public about why we are facing such terrible disasters and call out those who have lied to the American public about the climate crisis.

This year Donald Trump asked oil executives for a billion dollars and has promised to roll back existing climate protections, dismantle the EPA, and expand drilling if he is re-elected. Americans deserve to know the truth: Donald Trump sold out Asheville, NC and plans to sell out the rest of us for his own political gain.

I am asking your network to host a Hurricane Town Hall in North Carolina before early voting starts on October 17th with Vice President Harris and Former President Trump to explain to the American people what they will do to stop the climate crisis.

Without bold climate action from the federal government, all of our communities risk being wiped away. Our leaders must answer to those who have lost everything.
