Call Today: Urge Mayor Evans and County Executive Bello to support turning RG&E into a public utility!

Fed up with RG&E? Share your RG&E story with our City and County Leadership, and join the fight to take over and replace RG&E with a publicly owned, local, affordable, community-controlled, and climate-conscious utility!

RG&E's shareholders extracted $95 million in profits from the Rochester area last year. As shareholders get richer, Rochester area residents face expensive bills, billing errors, poor customer service, frequent prolonged power outages, and outsourced jobs year after year.

The City of Rochester and Monroe County have the power to take over RG&E and turn it into a public utiltiy through an implementation study and referendum. But to do that, they need to hear from you!

Join Metro Justice's Rochester for Energy Democracy Campaign in urging the Mayor of Rochester and County Executive of Monroe County to commit to the first step in this process: commissioning and funding an implementation study. An implementation study will gives us the road map for how to create and run a utility that is affordable, gives ratepayers a real say, and invests money back into our region.

Our fight is stronger with you! Will you call Mayor Evans and County Executive Adam Bello today?

"Hi, my name is __________, and I am a resident of (your neighborhood in Rochester or municipality of residence). I urge (Mayor Evans/County Executive Bello) to support Metro Justice's Rochester for Energy Democracy Campaign to take over and replace RG&E with a public utility. (Share your story in a few sentences). RG&E has shown us for decades that they are unwilling to properly serve Rochester residents; the best and only long-term solution is to replace RG&E with a public utility. I hope I can count on you to fund and commission an implementation study that fulfills the goals recommended by Metro Justice. I have had enough of RG&E; we deserve a utility that is affordable, local, renewable, and accountable to ratepayers. Thank you."

For your story, we encourage you to share a past or ongoing frustrating experience you have had with RG&E, and/or what a 20% rate hike would mean for you. We recommend keeping your story brief so that your comments are not prematurely cut-off by voicemail recording time-limits.
