In a historic effort the NO BAN Act has passed the House of Representatives in a landslide 233-183 vote.

The momentum of our movement to #RepealTheBan is unquestionable—if we keep on the pressure, we can win.

Next stop: take our demands for a complete and total passing of the NO BAN Act directly to our lawmakers in the Senate.

Popular opinion, elected leaders, and voters are on our side—the massive show of people power standing up to defend the rights of Muslim and African families can't be ignored.

I am reaching out to request that you use your authority to cosponsor the NO BAN Act (H.R. 1333) without any bad amendments.

The bill was recently re-introduced to Congress by Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27) and is already cosponsored by 157 House members. This is what Muslim, African, and other marginalized communities need—checks and balances to ensure the harm created by Trump's Muslim and African bans will be prevented in the future.

The Muslim and African Bans kept countless people separated from their loved ones in service of a divisive and discriminatory political agenda for nearly four years.

While we celebrated the repeal of the Muslim ban and African ban on President Biden’s first day in office, we know families are still being harmed by bans issued under the same authority that remain in place.

In addition to rescinding these bans, we must prevent future presidents from abusing and weaponizing this dangerously over-broad executive power.

I urge Congress to swiftly pass the NO BAN Act to ensure that these harmful, discriminatory bans are definitively behind us.
