U.S. Army War College: Cancel Islamophobe Raymond Ibrahim's Talk
The U.S. Army War College—a taxpayer-funded, government institution—has once again invited infamous Islamophobe Raymond Ibrahim to speak this Wednesday, February 26th about this book, Sword and Scimitar: Fourteen Centuries of War between Islam and the West, which advances an Orientalist and inaccurate view of Islam.
This is unacceptable.
Ibrahim’s rhetoric—characterizing Muslims as inherently angry, hostile, and prone to violence against "the West"—normalizes and justifies violence against Muslims, which is already a problem for the military.
There’s enough Islamophobia going around to create a sense of urgency around absolutely unnecessary acts of war in the Middle East. A government entity inviting a known Islamophobe to speak to an audience of the military community is not something we can easily ignore.
Join us and our friends at CAIR-Philadelphia and About Face: Veterans Against War. Make the call NOW and tell the U.S. Army War College: If you don't drop Ibrahim, you're not only endorsing anti-Muslim hate, but dangerously nurturing Islamophobia and white nationalism within the military.
