Since October, over 40,000 people, including more than 14,000 children, have been brutally killed by Israel.¹

Our eyes are fixed on Gaza as the Israeli military has now launched an offensive on Rafah, where nearly 1.5 million Palestinians are sheltering, ordering 100,000 residents in its eastern areas to evacuate, and seizing the Rafah border crossing shutting down humanitarian aid coming into Gaza.

The people of Gaza urgently need a permanent ceasefire.

As your constituent, I am horrified by the war crimes and atrocities we are witnessing in Gaza. A U.S. federal court, numerous human rights organizations, and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) have termed Israel’s war on Gaza a “plausible genocide.” I urge you to condemn Israel’s Rafah assault and invasion, urge President Biden to facilitate an immediate and lasting ceasefire, and end military assistance to Israel.

We need an immediate and lasting ceasefire now.

Urgent action is needed now to stop the invasion of Rafah where nearly 1.5 million Palestinians are currently sheltering. What is happening to Palestinians in Gaza is a man-made humanitarian catastrophe. Israel has horrifically killed over 40,000 Palestinians, including more than 14,000 children.

With a looming reporting deadline to Congress under NSM-20, it is deeply disturbing that the U.S. Department of State previously made comments with respect to “assurances” from the Israeli government, under National Security Memorandum (NSM-20), that the Israeli government is using U.S-origin weapons in full compliance with relevant U.S. and international law and is not restricting or arbitrarily blocking the delivery of US-funded humanitarian assistance in the face of mounting credible and deeply troubling reports and allegations that Israel has in fact used U.S arms in ways that violate U.S. and international humanitarian law as it relates to civilian protections and aid flow.

I'm urging you to join your colleagues in Congress by supporting an immediate and lasting ceasefire, condemn Israel’s Rafah assault and invasion, urge President Biden to facilitate a permanent ceasefire now, and stop sending arms to Israel.
