Thank you for your work on the FY22 budget. I'm writing to you today to ask that you take action to swiftly override Governor Baker's FY22 vetoes on key line items that seek to assist families and individuals experiencing homelessness, and to reject his amendments to outside sections related to cash assistance programs.

Specifically, I am asking you to please do all you can to:

- Override the veto to the Emergency Assistance family shelter program (EA, Line Item 7004-0101) to ensure necessary tracking and reporting, as well as to establish and fund an independent ombudsperson unit to assist families applying for and participating in the EA and HomeBASE programs

- Override the veto to the Residential Assistance for Families in Transition program (RAFT, Line Item 7004-9316) to ensure families and individuals have access to additional $4.7 million in rental and utility assistance during the pandemic and beyond

- Fully eliminate the asset tests for applicants and participants in the Emergency Aid to the Elderly, Disabled, and Children program (EAEDC, 4408-1000) and the Transitional Aid to Families with Dependent Children program (TAFDC, line item 4403-2000) by rejecting the Governor's amendments and reenacting the Legislature's versions of Outside Sections 47 and 67
