Support activists in Burma!
In February 2021, the military in Burma attempted a coup d’état. They have been violently trying to take control of the country ever since.
For more than two years, activists from all corners of the country have been resisting a return to military rule. The military has responded with brutal attacks against protestors and deadly assaults against civilians. The junta has killed, wounded and unjustly detained tens of thousands of people. More than one million people have been forced to flee their homes.
Tell the Canadian government it must take action.
Send a letter to your MP asking the Canadian government to take urgent action on the humanitarian crisis and end mass atrocities in Burma, and asking your MP to join a parliamentary friendship group. Canada can take action in these three ways:
1) Target and coordinate sanctions
2) Reject the State Administration Council
3) Provide humanitarian aid to local civil society organizations
