Maternal Mortality Deserves the Attention of our Candidates

This fall, we are educating voters and candidates across the country about the critical issue of maternal mortality.

All mothers should get the care and attention they need while pregnant and after giving birth. Black mothers in the US - and in our state - are dying at alarming levels - often 3-4 times higher than white women. This is unacceptable in the wealthiest country in the world.

Bold action can change this - and we need to apply H.E.A.T to our candidates to address this critical issue in their campaigns. Contact your candidates today to let them know you want them to take action to improve maternal health in your state.

All mothers should get the care and attention they need while pregnant and after giving birth. Nationwide, Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy related complications and Indigenous women are twice as likely to die than white women. This is unacceptable in the wealthiest country in the world.
