Tell Albertsons and Safeway Executives to Give Their Employees Time Off to Vote

Albertsons and Safeway employees put their lives on the line every day to make sure that our communities can stay healthy and fed in the middle of an ongoing pandemic. In an election that will greatly shape the country’s pandemic response, essential workers have a right to cast their ballots. Hourly wage workers — who are disproportionately Black — pay a very real price when their employers force them to take unpaid time out of their work day to vote. Albertsons executives rely on workers to drive their profits, but is doing little to protect the voting rights of their employees. Companies like Walmart and Rite Aid have already committed to give workers paid time off to vote. Tell Albertsons to step up to the plate and protect their employees’ voting rights.
