Raise Your Voice for Climate Action in San Diego
The City of San Diego released its Climate Action Plan’s (CAP) draft Implementation Plan. We’re excited implementation is finally being talked about (it’s 🔑) and we’re ready to get the ball rolling.
There are unheard-of funding opportunities coming from the state and federal government. Every day the City delays acting on its climate goals, our communities lose out on billions of dollars that would improve their quality of life (including 💰 for housing, transit, and green projects). The City has really strong plans in place with bold climate goals, and the Implementation Plan is evidence that San Diego can become a national leader in climate action.
We’re advocating for strong implementation, with key actions such as the adoption of an all-electric ordinance and the completion of a Mobility Master Plan. The City has all the right tools to better our neighborhoods and leave a legacy of climate action. We’re hopeful San Diego will make bold strides in climate policy, uplifting our communities and centering those at the frontline of the climate crisis. It’s time we start seeing the change promised within our communities.
