For decades, we have been at the forefront of the battle against the undue influence of big-money donors in Albany. We have seen

Real Estate giants demanding big tax breaks while tenants face eviction;
Hedge Fund billionaires pushing for the privatization of public education;
Oil & Gas Industry who beats back regulation while our communities suffer from the consequences of climate catastrophe;
Big Health Insurance prioritizing their profits over the well-being of our families.

In 2020, we WON a significant victory with the establishment of the landmark New York State Public Campaign Finance Program, a statewide initiative designed to diminish the impact of special interests on our elections. This year, thanks to your support, we successfully fought for and WON $39.5 million in the state budget to fund the Public Campaign Finance Program.

This groundbreaking program will come into effect for the State Senate and Assembly elections in 2024, putting the power in the hands of the people of New York. The system helps candidates engage more with constituents and frees them from the countless hours spent on fundraising calls to big donors. It's a small donor public matching funds system with a $12-to-$1 match on the smallest donations.
