The Public Campaign Finance Program (PCFP) is a vital program that ensures fair, representative, and transparent elections. Governor Kathy Hochul has taken a positive step by allocating $114.5 million for this program in her 2024 executive budget. However, for the PCFP to be successful, the Senate and Assembly must also pledge the same amount in their one-house budgets and ensure that this amount is reflected in the final budget. It's time for the Governor, the Senate, and the Assembly to honor their commitment and include this funding in the final budget by April 1.
Let us work together to make sure that our democracy is founded on fairness and integrity and that it is inclusive.
