Dear members of the Finance Committee,

My name is [your name will go here] and I am writing because the childcare system in our state is broken. Parents pay too much, and providers make too little. I’m asking that you support HB5002.

As an advocate, I’ve seen firsthand how parents and providers struggle to navigate the system. HB5002 creates a permanent non-lapsing fund held at the State Treasurer’s Office, which would create a permanent, dedicated fund to support early childhood.  It would support much-needed stabilization grants across the industry, and help make childcare affordable for families.

I appreciate your support of this legislative proposal and ensuring Connecticut’s children have a brighter future and the necessary support for the dedicated early care workforce.
