Dear President Deep Saini, Provost Christopher Manfredi, Deputy Provost, Student Life and Learning, Fabrice Labeau, and Director, Labour and Employee Relations, Francis Desjardins,

I stand with the Association of McGill Professors of Law (AMPL) in their fight to protect the rights of academic staff to unionize. Across the country, members of the post-secondary community see your anti-union campaign and are saying enough is enough.

Over the last 18 months, you have refused to bargain in good faith with AMPL, retaliated against union supporters, and continued challenging the very existence of the union. The academic community is watching, and we stand in solidarity with AMPL.

I am calling on you to stop undermining the rights of academic staff to unionize and to bargain a collective agreement. It is time to stop jeopardizing students’ learning conditions and academic staffs’ working conditions and return to the table to bargain in good faith with AMPL.
