Re: Bridge Forward

Today, I ask you - at the Governor's invitation - to support the Bridge Forward plan for the Brent Spence Corridor in downtown Cincinnati (i.e. the Kaskaskia Engineering 9/11/23 I-W Full Street Grid Plan). Specifically, I ask that you support Councilmember Meeka Owens’ Resolution on this matter.

The Bridge Forward plan is the only plan being proposed that accomplishes all of the following:
•	Consistent with IIJA and Justice40 priorities of equity and reconnecting communities, providing restorative justice for the City’s Urban Renewal policies of the 1950s and 1960s;
•	Offers the best life-cycle value to all stakeholders by far, consistent with progressive design-build contracting principles, generating an economic return of $3.4 billion and reducing the walking distance between Downtown and Queensgate from 1,520 feet to 460 feet;
•	Technically feasible;
•	Designed with proactive, good-faith, community stakeholder engagement; and
•      Achieves all ODOT & KYTC project objectives.
•	Not going to cause an environmental or permitting delay.
