Will you ask your MP to commit to ending poverty for good?
Ending poverty should be more than a priority – it should be law.
That’s why we are calling for a Poverty Zero law that requires every government to set targets to reduce poverty, which they would be legally accountable to.
3.8 million people in the UK are living in destitution, the most extreme form of poverty. They are struggling to keep themselves warm, fed and clothed. And this number is rising – destitution has more than doubled in the last 7 years.
A Poverty Zero law will provide successive governments with the authority and momentum they need to tackle destitution head on, as Net Zero has done for the climate crisis.
Right now, our government has the largest majority of any government in almost 30 years and a unique opportunity to end extreme poverty in the UK by legislating towards Poverty Zero.
Urge your MP to support our campaign to end poverty in the UK.
